Marriage is an easy way to spoil romance and sensation! Yet, too many couples end up getting hitched. Although long-term commitment may seem like a nightmare, the promise of eternal love is a fairytale we desperately hold on to. But the extravagance of a ceremonious wedding cannot last for long. After a while, you will find yourself stuck in a more or less ordinary life. That's when we start to lose our minds.
Perhaps due to lack of thrill or adventure, couples do grow apart in time. But who says marriage has to be boring? If you wish to spice up your relationship, you can pull out a surprise. Don't be dull and naive. Treat your new wife to a honeymoon she'll never forget. Of course, you do not have to burn a hole in your pocket and book a last-minute trip. There are travel agencies that provide great travel options with cheap value rates.
Like, for instance, my sister Tin. She was unaware of what will happen after their Vegas wedding. There was no preparation or even talks about honeymoon. They were practically living together so she didn't expect any more surprise from her new husband, George. It totally blew her mind when after two hours, George booked a flight to London. They stayed at a local house hotel. It's not a romantic holiday but such a surprise sweeped Tin off her feet. After 5 years, Tin would still say that up to this day, George is still unpredictably exciting.

Men and women are not born equal and on their own, they assume special roles. Yet, when it comes to love, they're united as one to conquer the odds and compromise their differences. Indeed, love can be so powerful, it can melt any oppressing heart. All people need is to find the right key and unlock its greatness. With understanding and trust, love opens a bright future for any married couple.

A fun way to start your journey is to scuba dive and scour the underwater treasure. If we can only search for the underlying mysteries and beauties in all of us, there would be more to see than our spouse's flaws and unglamorous virtues. The deep sea may be a fearful abyss but with support, guide, and buoyant power to survive, couples will finally discover the true meaning of life.

Tom and Wilma, after 12 years, still find their way back to the memories of Bali. Clear, blue waters and gentle waves reflect pure love at a tender age. Wilma can still remember the moment she held her breath and plunged deep into the water. She was not a terrific diver, but knowing Tom's just by her side, the experience made her feel like a real woman of the sea. They found the true magic of love deep in the waters of Bali.

After marriage, you'll have to face the real nightmare of being tied eternally to one woman. She may be an angel or a devil but your wedding vows and contract will always confirm that she's your wife. There's no more escape from unleashing the wild side of each couple's personality. So if I were you, I'll face it head on. Never dilly-dally with fantasy; she's not Cinderella and chances are, she can be the reincarnation of the Evil Stepmother. So while you're still happy, accept the reality.

If you want to be exotic and eccentric, safari honeymoon may be just the thing for you. It will leave memories you'll never forget even after divorce. Sometimes, it will be thrilling to discover something new and fun before you get confined to a suffocating household of married life. I'm not a hopeless romantic but seeing nature and its ferocious inhabitants may send chills to my spine. The wildlife reflects the true charm of marriage, and if you want to spice things up a bit, spice up your honeymoon in the wilderness.

We always picture Africa with famine and poverty, but in the remote part of Zambia lies an adventurous haven. You can take your new wife for tours and sightseeing. Or, if you want to go over the edge, you can do canoeing or boating and stay in a lodge or camp. But the ultimate ride of all will be the safari strolling. Believe me when I say that the Zambia safari honeymoon package has the best idea for fun and romance!

Other people say that love is not meant to last. Although I consider myself as a hopeless romantic, I will have to agree, but relationships will never fade especially when you're bound by commitment and trust. And for two people who suddenly decide to merge as one, they'll need more than love to survive. I don't want to paint you a beautiful picture of marriage because it isn't as enchanting as it is told in fairy tales. You'll wake up one day with a total stranger by your side. Over the years, you may lose the spark and passion. You'll only be compelled to live together. That's the blatant truth in some marriages.

Couples do engage in heated arguments and debates. It's like a boxing bout, only there can never be true winners because in the end, you'll always have to yield to the other corner and withdraw from the fight. That's what you call compromise. It's the secret philosophy of marriage. You'll need to work on your differences even to the tiniest detail. If not, you'll slowly drift apart and end up losing your better half. But when it comes to religion, we never compromise faith and beliefs. So how are we to deal with the dilemma? Remember that there are thousands of religions but only one God. And if you're a true believer you'll find Him at the center of your being.

The moment you take an oath, it will be a promise between you, your woman and your God. And whenever you feel like hoisting the white flag, nothing more can save your marriage from disgrace but only Him. So before Jennifer and Brian trailed that dubious walk of married life, they decided to visit the core of their faith and spirituality. For their honeymoon, they went to the Buddhist Temples. According to Brian, the experience is truly enlightening. He knew that he won't be a perfect husband but he has a perfect God who'll always be there for him and Jennifer. And I thought, people break up not because of love, but maybe because they've given up on binding faith and trust. A journey to your spirituality is the best marriage anthology of your life as a couple.

Love almost seems like fire and ice. The first encounter always deals with passion and emotional high. One fine day turns into holiday when you're next to the most beautiful creature on earth. You do things that you haven't done before and the whole world is in a euphoric state. But like the ebb of the tide, there will come a time when the flame will no longer spark and hot turns into cold. Because love is a roller coaster ride. There's fear, pain, joy and revelry. And even if it takes you up and down, you become addicted to this adventurous ride.

If there's so much longing and sensation, why do we wake up only to realize that we've lost it all? Romantic holidays become routine and you no longer feel the excitement of a fairytale. It's as if you'll see your partner for the first time. She's no longer charming as she used to be and we always wish there can be someone else though once she dominated your world entirely. Crazy as it is, true love is about accepting the reality. It's when all things fade and colors become pale yet you choose to stick it out with her even when life is hell. Love conquers all, the worst and the best.

My marriage is dull and boring. But I deeply love my wife. Because even if it's not a promise of heaven and adventure, it can never be life without her. So I planned for our second honeymoon. We went to the North Pole, not to search for Santa although it would be great to see him, but to rekindle our love. So why did I choose such a chilly place? Because when we're cold, that's the only time that we crave for heat and warmth. I wanted to rejuvenate what we've lost in years hoping that we'll spark an eternal flame. We both enjoyed the isolation and chemistry in the white land. Guess what? We still have the hots for each other!

It's not always a happy ever after and you don't always marry the one you love. On other parts of the world, love is not reflected in the marriage contract. It's all about a business deal by two powerful families who wants to consolidate their wealth for the future of the company. It's a fixed marriage of the unwilling parties. Their families decide for the couple, only to suffer a lifetime of wishful thinking being with the ones they love. Though in a fixed marriage, you don't have to make each others lives turn to hell. Maybe it's better to be friends first.
Saturday, April 28. 2007
I'm deeply in love with my wife but I have to say that friendship is the highest form of love. The spark did last for a couple of years but if we managed to survive all the storms, it's because we've grown comfortable with each other. We became lifetime partners, we became friends. Romance can sometimes be overrated and it's not always built to last or stay. But friendship will save your life from a pitiful spell of marriage.

The first time they'll ever be together is on a honeymoon trip in Italy. Dennis and Sora were compelled to spend the rest of their lives with each other as part of their family's will. It's too late to even back out and all they can do is learn to accept their fate with each other. How did they spend their honeymoon? It was awkward at first, but when they treated each other as friends and not an instant couple, they found things they can both enjoy like going to the movies and or spending a night of barhopping. This way, they were able to establish rapport. Whether or not they'll end up together, time can only tell. At least friendship can rescue them from the spites of a fixed marriage.
Thursday, April 26. 2007
Before you even affix your signature on that contract, think again. Marriage vows are suicide notes. You say bye-bye to freedom, say bye-bye to wild night parties for you'll forever be doomed with one woman. She may be lovely, but give it some time, she'll all lose her lovely curves, her face will sag, and she'll turn into a monster the moment she steps in to your home and dominates your life. She'll never be the same girl you used to know. But why do we sign up to suicide anyways? Because it's better to be ruined with someone else than to die in a lonely grave. That's the comfort of marriage. It's hell but at least you get to share it with your wife.

"Let go and jump off the edge," Richard said to Candice. "Why do I have to?," she screamed back. "So you can trust me and we can be one," Richard proposed to Candice. I don't know where the hell Richard got that idea, but it sure is crazy. Bungee jumping for honeymoon? It must be love! Love makes you do crazy things, things you never thought you will do in a million years. I even heard Richard confess many times, "I am not the marrying type!" But when he met Candice, he slipped into oblivion and just swallowed his pride. Funny, but love is like bungee jumping. You just have to let go, trust the ropes, stretch your arms wide, and enjoy. It's an adventure, for there's fear, pain, freedom, and exhilaration. That's what married life is all about.
Tuesday, April 24. 2007
Marriage is not just a mere contract or obligation. It is a rope that binds the couple. Sometimes, you just have to trust love and go with the flow. Follow your heart, listen to your instincts, and love your partner unconditionally. You may fear for your life, or for losing something in the end, but you'll never know until you let it all go. You can only count on the rope that binds you two. There's resilience of spirits. Your partner is waiting for you on the other line so bounce back from where you've started.
Monday, April 23. 2007
Couples are like pillars. They shouldn't stand too far from each other or they're fall apart. They shouldn't stand too close neither or they'll crumble together. There is no exact formula actually that's why there's no such thing as the perfect couple. The most successful marriage I know are the ones with the most imperfect partners. One minute they'll quit on each other, only to get back together. But the best of all, they always see love through when confronted with their partner's flaws. When the man can't provide, the woman steps in. When the woman can't understand, the man yields and surrender. That's how Marie Alice and Paul Simpson survived a decade of a challenging relationship.
Sunday, April 22. 2007
Their first day of marriage was the worst of all times. Marie Alice and Paul cannot proceed with their honeymoon plans. Because of a stormy weather, all flights were cancelled and they were left with no choice but to stay in their hotel. Marie Alice, always the hopeless romantic, wanted to attend a dinner ball. But Paul, the more conservative half of the two, wanted to go home. It's a simple case of misunderstanding, but once you step in to marriage, your ego stops you from yielding to the wishes of the other spouse. You always want to assert power over the other.
Saturday, April 21. 2007
Funny how marriage vows turn couples into silly fools. You get more sensitive and cynical against your partner. That's how Marie Alice felt for Paul. She felt that he was supposed to be giving while Paul insisted that she should be more understanding. She doesn't want to stay nor Paul would wanted to go. So how did they resolve it? After hours of snubbing each other, they decided to find one thing they both enjoy. Something that won't require compromise. Movies have always been a thrilling experience so they went to see one. It was a lousy way to spend the first night, but the moral of the story is to always look for that win-win solution. Find that common option that will lead you two to happiness without feeling guilty.

Honeymoon is like a piece of cherry on top of a black-forest cake. It's a garnish to make love flare up with excitement while you start on a journey to a lifetime commitment. There are lots of moments when you've crossed and invaded the details of your physical yearning for each other, but how can you single out honeymoon as special from the previous acts of love? Like a sweet cherry, give life to your dessert. Tease your eyes and senses with burning desire and flaming anticipation. Sometimes all you ever need is a good start to push another stride before you poke to the finish line.
When you hear the story of Wallace and Alice, you'll think of an ambitious lady who compromises a young body just so the old grumpy daddy will give her money. But my boss claims that it's true love. After getting divorced the fourth time, Wallace vowed never again to be outwitted by a gold-digger wife. However, when Alice came into his life, he went downright flabby with his promise. And so, the the story of the grumpy and nanny unfolds.
Ten years after and they're still together. But Alice is on a death bed fighting cancer with a lame, sorrowful sigh. If there's one thing Wallace will always remember, it's the night when they sailed away to childish fantasy. It's better than going to Italy. He knew from then on that Alice will be her flame to survive. Unfortunately, the flame will soon have to die. At least he tasted fire, which will forever burn in his heart.
