Clincher For Mans Heart

Please believe me when I say that my dad looks like Robert Redford slash Sean Connery. I know you'd imagine that I did inherit the good looks, but sorry to disappoint you ladies, I'm on the average side of fame. Maybe his and my mom's Spanish blood didn't mix well at all. How could they come up with a Frankenstein (just kidding)!

Every summer, dad and I would go fishing on the lake. And it's one of the rare moments for a father-and-son bonding. But five years of living in the city, the boy has changed. I'm busy now with my own life and it feels weird just to sit down with your dad waiting for that elusive catch. I don't know what else to say so I asked him about their honeymoon (praying that he would exclude the sexual details of course).

He told me how from the first day of their marriage, he knew that it will last a lifetime. There's no exciting fling or swing. They just stayed in a cheaper villa in Spain which was so boring!

But not at all! He told me about his secretaries and their wild affairs. So I wondered what made her stick to mom if he could have had younger, sexier, and prettier ladies?!

"Don't laugh at me when I say that the easiest way to a man's heart is through his stomach. I know it's cheesy!", my dad cried out in laughs. "She pampered me with her cooking the first week of our honeymoon. Your mom took serious details in serving for her man. And I knew right then that she will take care of me for the rest of my life.", my dad confessed in a proud shame. That was sleazy, I thought, but I also witnessed how mom rekindled their love with the spice of her flavorful gourmet cooking. So is food really a clincher to man's shallow and often polygamous heart?
